Stephanie’s on Newbury is an institution in Boston

A classic that continues to reinvent itself to appeal to residents and visitors alike. Located on one of Boston’s most iconic and scenic streets, Newbury Street, and in the heart of Back Bay, Stephanie’s welcomes guests with warm, friendly service all day long.

Serving “Sophisticated Comfort Food” in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere since 1994.

Guests favor this classic, go-to restaurant because owner Stephanie Sokolove skillfully blends homestyle American favorites with a fresh, local twist.

Casual elegance at its best

Stephanie’s is casual elegance at its best with one of city’s most fashionable sidewalk cafés, popular bar and lounge overlooking Exeter Street and cozy sky-lit dining spaces. Our team at Stephanie’s is friendly and hospitable and eagerly anticipates your next visit.

Ben Zemmel

General Manager

Growing up in his father's Italian trattoria, Alforno, in Connecticut, Ben came to Boston, studying at BU. He then moved to Italy to study Italian cooking at Villamarina, a seafood inspired restaurant on the Adriatic coast. Ben returned to his roots in the family trattoria, later coming back to Boston to open Stephi's in Southie as the assistant General Manager where he helped to develop the wine program with monthly wine dinners at the Wine Bar, eventually transitioning back to Stephanie's on Newbury earlier this year.
